Bloomberg: 16 Italian companies in the Gender Equality Index

There are sixteen Italian companies included in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index 2021, the index that monitors companies on the basis of company policies and initiatives undertaken in favor of gender equality.

This year, among nearly 11.700 publicly traded companies rated on breadth of gender inclusion reporting and performance, Bloomberg selected for its index 380 company from 44 countries and belonging to 11 different production sectors. Collectively, these groups reach a market capitalization of $14 trillion.

The benchmark index created by Bloomberg measures gender equality through five pillars: female leadership and talent development programs, equal pay and gender pay equity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and pro-women corporate culture.

Through the dissemination of gender metrics indicated by the GEI index, the "promoted" companies have committed to providing a complete view of their investments in favor of gender equality both in the workplace and in the communities in which they operate.

As mentioned, 16 of the 380 companies included in the Bloomberg gender equality index are Italian. We are talking about: A2a, Acea, Enel, FinecoBank, Hera, Intesa Sanpaolo, Iren, Leonardo, Mediobanca, Nexi, Poste Italiane, Snam, Stmicroelectronics, Terna, Tim and Unicredit.
