The numbers and documents speak for themselves. Between shares and derivatives, BlackRock currently owns 6% of the capital of Telecom Italia, the largest Italian telecommunications company. This is what emerges from the documents filed by BlackRock with the SEC, the Authority that controls companies and markets in the United States.
BlackRock's passion for Italian corporations and for Telecom, which is the world's largest financial company and a real giant in asset management, is not new.
Already in the past BlackRock had risen to over 10% of Telecom and then partially sold its shares and fell below 2%. Today it has again increased its stake in Telecom, whose shareholding is on the move after Fossati's move which dropped from 6% and made the company even more contestable than before.
