“Il Binario 20 Bis”, that Rome-Campobasso train out of this world

Almost a year after the birth of the Facebook page "Il Binario 20 Bis", the ironic authors of the satire on one of the worst routes in Italy have decided to put on paper the collection of all the posts that have entertained and made thousands of commuters reflect and not, waiting for the train that goes from the capital of Molise to Rome and vice versa.

“Il Binario 20 Bis”, that Rome-Campobasso train out of this world

It's called "Il Binario 20 Bis" and it's the book that has just been published by the authors of the Facebook page of the same name. “The first text in the world that revolves around the concept of railway discomfort” says one of the authors, who explains: “The stretch on the Campobasso-Rome tracks, considered by many one of the worst in Italy, is a mine of problems that we have transformed into anecdotes, stories and curiosities. Delays, inconveniences, breakdowns are what passengers and crew often experience on a daily basis during the journey. But in our title we have especially drawn attention to the arrival in Rome of trains from Molise: Il Binario 20 Bis to be precise. A place placed not by chance at 300 meters from Termini station ".

Reality, surrealism and fantasy come together building a universe where the protagonist is the train, the "Frecciolone", and where it can happen that there is a festival on board the carriages with roast meat, where a Eurostar by mistake arrives in Campobasso arousing dismay and where early trains stop at the station for passengers to have coffee. "Il Binario 20 Bis" is a disillusioned and disenchanted look at the difficult situation of railway transport in Molise, a criticism of the management of the section by the high command of the railways and at the same time a nice pastime, to be read for example during a delay.
