Bill Gross leaves Pimco and moves to Janus Capital

The founder of the maxi Pimco fund, Bill Gross, leaves his creature and moves on to Janus Capital, where he will manage the Janus Global Unconstrained Bond Fund and will take care of the strategies.

Janus, who gained 19% in Wall Street premarket on the news, said Gross will start on Monday but will effectively manage the fund starting Oct. 6.

The manager will be based out of Janus' new office in Newport Beach, California, and will be responsible for "the company's global fixed income macro strategy efforts."

Its action will be “separate from and complementary to the already existing and successful platform” of Janus.
