Big celebration in Carmagnola for the Pepper that bears its name: exhibitions, show cooking and tastings

For lovers of taste and discovery of the great heritage of flavors of the Piedmont region, the appointment is at the National Pepper Fair in Carmagnola, which will open its doors for its 76th edition from August 29 to September 7. Since its introduction, which dates back to the beginning of the twentieth century, the intensive cultivation of peppers in the area surrounding Carmagnola has attracted great interest among agricultural operators, for the excellent yields ensured by the ideal soil and climate conditions of the area to the point that until after the Second World War, a large part of the active population was dedicated to agricultural activity.

The Fair, which has always been a showcase of excellence for peppers, is preparing for a record edition: almost 250 exhibitors will enliven the city squares and streets, offering an explosive mix of flavors and novelties, an unmissable opportunity to discover the thousand nuances of peppers and let yourself be won over by the excellence of the territory.

For this edition, via Gobetti will be transformed into the Via del Peperone during the Fair, hosting the producers of the iconic Carmagnola peppers, the great protagonists of the event dedicated to them, who can be discovered and purchased directly from the local businesses that cultivate this true excellence that makes Carmagnola and its territory famous.

Like every year, the Foro Festival will be the beating heart of the evening events. At the Foro Boario in Piazza Italia, big names in Italian music, culture and comedy will take turns on stage, offering unforgettable evenings for all tastes.

The city center will come alive with various themed areas. In the Castle Gardens and in Piazza Manzoni you will find food and wine stands and more, while via Pellico and via Bobba will be dedicated to personal services, objects and the exhibition of cars and motorcycles. The squares of taste, such as Piazza Bobba and the now traditional Piazza dei Sapori (Piazza Mazzini), will be the ideal place to taste the typical delicacies and creations based on peppers, including products from companies belonging to the Consorzio del Peperone. And let's not forget the Villaggio del Territorio in via Garibaldi, with food exhibitors coming directly from the Carmagnola district.

This year there is a tasty novelty: the PalaPeperone in Piazza Sant'Agostino! A tensile structure that will host free events dedicated to the world of food, with show cooking, tastings, literary presentations, interviews with famous chefs and meetings with journalists and high-level food critics.

The stage in Piazza Sant'Agostino will host institutional events, awards and free musical performances every evening. For the major concerts and cultural events of the Foro Festival, it will be possible to purchase entrance tickets. Info on the website www.fieradelpeperone.it
