The Golinelli Opificio inaugurates today the territorial laboratory for employability: Big Data, ICT, mechatronics and agri-food for the school of the future - Minister Valeria Fedeli at the ribbon cutting - The program of the day

After the summer break, Opificio Golinelli (via Paolo Nanni Costa, 14) reopens on Saturday 16 September with a double appointment dedicated to training and innovation in teaching. One year after the allocation of funding from the Ministry of Education, he inaugurates the territorial laboratory for employability which has its headquarters in Opificio Golinelli, in the spaces made available free of charge by the Golinelli Foundation: "OF-Opus facere fare to understand”, made up of a network of 10 high schools and 35 public and private realities, led by the Belluzzi Fioravanti Institute of Higher Education and coordinated by a pool made up of experts from the Golinelli Foundation and a team of teachers from the schools involved, the tape in the presence of the Minister of Education, University and Research, Valeria Fedeli. With the conference “Enterprise and emotions. Ideas for teaching” also kicks off the school year of Educare a educare, a project area of the Golinelli Foundation dedicated to the updating and permanent training of teachers of all levels. The focus on some challenges of today's school hosts two speeches: "Emotions in a phylogenetic perspective: directions of development and ambivalences of the educational experience" by Maurizio Fabbri, philosopher of education (University of Bologna); “Entrepreneurship education for XNUMXst century skills” by Anusca Ferrari, teacher and researcher (European Schoolnet).

Territorial laboratory for employability "Opus face fare to understand"

It is an innovative educational project which in July 2016 won the funding of 750 euros allocated by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (law n. 107/2015): "Opus face fare to understand" came first classified project in Emilia-Romagna. In addition to ministerial funds, the partners will add 1 euros over three years. The project therefore makes it possible to invest a total of 750 million euros in the increase of human, social, entrepreneurial capital and the culture of work and inclusion, typical of the Bologna area. "Opus face fare to understand" has a duration of ten years and will involve 2,5 students, a thousand teachers and 10 citizens a year. The territorial laboratory is aimed at students and teachers of secondary schools in the metropolitan area of Bologna, but also at families and citizens.

At a territorial level, the laboratory is organized as a network with a central office: Opificio Golinelli is the reference point for the new innovation training ground. Four other operating poles in the province are connected to the Opificio: the IIS Mattei and, since 2018, the Officine SanLab in San Lazzaro di Savena; the ICT LAB at the IIS Archimede of San Giovanni in Persiceto; the Malpighi Lab at the Malpighi High School.

It is equipped with cutting-edge equipment and technologies in the areas of robotics, ICT, nanotechnology, biotechnology, and rapid prototyping and digital manufacturing. It puts schools in close relationship with the new training chain made up of local public and private institutions, universities, research centers and companies, focusing on the most cutting-edge production vocations that drive the future of the area: health and well-being, mechatronics and motoring, agri-food, research on new materials, automation, development of ICT and Big Data.

The laboratory will revolutionize the educational paradigm by marking a historical transition with respect to the traditional way of teaching and training in schools. The aim is to build spaces with a highly innovative profile available to several schools in the vast area of Bologna Metropolitan City, where to develop advanced teaching practices in synergy with local employment and business policies. It will be based on the assumption of "learning by doing", combining disciplinary training, research and laboratory experimentation, field experience, entrepreneurship and the theoretical and practical development of innovative ideas to stimulate excellent skills. Crossing, on the other hand, high school, technical and professional training in the field of divergent intelligence and innovation, typical of the tradition of work - artisanal and entrepreneurial - of the territory. Will a new way of teaching also be explored? and pupils will be equipped with a new toolbox to prepare for the professions and to create the new businesses of the future. Orientation? professional skills, selection of talents, creation of new business ideas, open innovation: these are the key elements of the territorial laboratory.

In advance of the inauguration on Saturday 16 September, some projects have already started in recent months in which around 1.300 students and 150 teachers have taken part. Open innovation activities were carried out with the corporate partners of the territorial laboratory and activities within the schools. Next year's goal will be to reach 2.000 students and 250 teachers, integrating the first year's activities with courses, training and workshops in the four reference areas: agri-food, ICT and creative cultural industries, health and well-being, robotic and motor mechatronics.

Schedule 16 September

– 10.00 Opening by Antonio Danieli, general director of the Golinelli Foundation

– 10.15-10.45 “Emotions in a phylogenetic perspective: directions of development and ambivalences of the educational experience” by Maurizio Fabbri, philosopher of education at the University of Bologna.

  • Fear, anxiety, joy, desire, as well as the "normal" resistance to learning, accompany, for better or for worse, all our life experiences and are fundamental ingredients of the educational experience. From the appearance of the limbic system onwards, it is not possible to learn in an anodyne and impersonal way, and the enormous development that the neocortex has had in the human species forces a further degree of personalization of learning, which makes every brain and every individual potentially to himself and different from others. We are part of an evolutionary path that assigns a preponderant role to emotions, often underestimated by our entire pedagogical and cultural tradition: it follows the opportunity to humanize the educational experience, supporting that process of transformation of existential styles, which makes parents different from those of the past and which poses new training questions to the school.

– 10.45-11.15 “Entrepreneurship education for XNUMXst century skills” by Anusca Ferrari, professor and researcher at European Schoolnet.

  • Entrepreneurship is defined as the ability of each individual to act on ideas and opportunities and transform them into added value for others. This broad vision, which is not only linked to 'doing business', will be detailed in this intervention in an educational key, explaining the benefits of a reflection on education.
