Venice Biennale, the new dates for the International Exhibitions: Architecture and Art

Venice Biennale, the new dates for the International Exhibitions: Architecture and Art

La 17th International Architecture Exhibition - How will we live together? – edited by Hashim Sarkis, which was to be held this year was postponed to 2021 and exactly 22 May to 21 November.
While, the 59th International Art Exhibition of 2021 edited by Cecilia Germanwas in turn postponed from 23 April to 27 November 2022.

The decision to postpone the Architecture Biennale to May 2021 is an acknowledgment of the impossibility of proceeding - within the set time limits - in the realization of such a complex and global exhibition, due to the persistence of a series of objective difficulties due to the ongoing international health emergency.

The persistence of this situation to date has definitively compromised the organization of the Exhibition in its entirety, jeopardizing the creation, transport and presence of the works and consequently the quality of the Exhibition itself. The Biennale, having also consulted the curator Hashim Sarkis, in respect of the difficulties of the invited architects, of the countries, of the institutions, of the participating Collateral Events, thanking them for the efforts made so far, has decided to postpone the opening of the International Architecture Exhibition to 2021 , but with the original duration of six months, from 22 May to 21 November.
