Biden, 17 measures in 1 day: the new president's breakthrough

He's not going to waste a minute Joe Biden A few hours after his official settlement in the White House, the 46th president of the United States of America has signed 17 executive orders which cancel some of the most controversial measures launched by his predecessor and pave the way for what is to come in the coming days.

The new tenant of the White House, on the other hand, had promised it. The first 100 days of his presidency will change the face of the United States, in the name of the newfound one National unity which Biden put at the center of the speech he gave yesterday after he was sworn in as president.

PARIS AGREEMENT AND WHO

Waiting for the now famous American Rescue Plan, maxi plan of 1.900 billion of dollars that aims to counter the pandemic crisis and which will have to be examined by Congress, the first executive orders signed by Biden cancel some of Donald Trump's most discussed decisions with a clean sweep. Biden has determined that the US will return to theagreement in Paris on climate change which they had abandoned last November 4 and halted the work of the Keystone XL pipeline, previously also blocked by Barack Obama and restarted by Trump.

An about-face also on the WHO. On July 7, 2020, Trump announced his intention to withdraw the US from the World Health Organization, accused by the former president of inefficiency and flattening pro-Chinese positions in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. The official release date was set for July 6, 2021, but the new President canceled everything and placed Anthony Fauci at the head of the American delegation to the oma.

IMMIGRATION

Also important news onimmigration. Biden abolished the so-called Muslim Ban, the executive order that allows the US to refuse entry visas to people from Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Yemen, North Korea and Venezuela, asking the State Department to propose compensation to those harmed by restrictions. However, the restrictions on stable entrances remain in force due to the emergency of Covid-19. And speaking of restrictions, one of Trump's latest moves was to lift the ban on arrivals from Europe and Brazil from 26 January 2021 for people who have tested negative for the coronavirus. Again, however, Biden has decided to overturn Trump's choices. “Based on advice from our medical team, the administration does not intend to lift these restrictions on January 26. Rather, our intention is to strengthen public health measures around international travel to further mitigate the spread of Covid-19,” a spokesman for the president announced.

Biden finally decided to stop construction of the wall on the border with Mexico, ending the national emergency declaration used to fund it. The federal agencies responsible for border control will have to facilitate the reunification of minor children separated from their parents.

COVID-19 EMERGENCY

The new administration has decided to enforce the use of masks and maintaining social distancing in all public buildings and on all federal lands and transportation systems connecting the 50 American states. The executive order also urges state and federal governments to do the same. Biden has also created a new figure who will take care of coordinate response measures to Covid-19will report directly to the president and manage efforts to manufacture and distribute vaccines and medical equipment. The role was held by government official and business executive Jeffrey D. Zients.

From an economic point of view, the blocking of evictions and times of payment of interest on loans for university students. Finally, we recall that Biden has promised to reach 100 million vaccines in the first 100 days of his presidency
