The Knight increasingly in a state of confusion still changes line and attacks the Premier with derogatory expressions – Meanwhile, the prosecutor of Milan accuses him of leaking news on the Unipol case.

Berlusconi increasingly wavering: today he attacks Monti

Prima supports him for over a year, voting in Parliament for every single law passed by his government. Then she forces him to announce his resignation. After a few days he proposes that he become the leader of the so-called moderates. Now he belittles it. In the fourth media appearance in four days, Silvio Berlusconi changes his mind about the Professor once again: “I'd be surprised if there were Monti's participation in the electoral campaign, this time I'd agree with D'Alema – the Cavaliere said today to Radio Anch'io microphones -. It would not be in Monti's interest to become a minor protagonist from the deus ex machina he presented himself"

During the entire mandate of the technicians, the PDL was the most represented party in Parliament: the only one decisive for guaranteeing a majority for the Executive. However, Berlusconi now believes that he completely dissociates himself from the reforming action of the Monti government, once again attacking its economic policy: “Austerity leads to recession and depression – continued the Cavaliere -. We need to completely change the economic policy. Going forward like this, our countries will be forced to leave the Euro because otherwise they would vote for bankruptcy and default”.

Berlusconi defines the date of 24 February for the elections as “suitable”, then chooses the path of irony to attack the centrists: “These small parties in the center that are courting Mario Monti show more and more how their consistency is thinning. So I invite voters not to waste the vote on these small parties that only reflect the interests of their tiny leaders and make the left win".

After that, Berlusconi launches in remnants against the opponents of the centre-left. Pier Luigi Bersani in the first place: “It's a broken record – says the Cavaliere -, they've been talking about a conflict of interest for 20 years while my broadcasts have never attacked the left. None of my televisions goes against the left, while Rai has a channel in favor of the left and la7 broadcasts against us from morning to night”.

Finally, an explicit message to the Vatican: “I believe that the influence of the Church is absolutely present - concludes the Knight, I hope you remember what we have done for the Church in the years of my government and keep in mind what the left would do if it were in government".

Meanwhile, in the indictment of the Unipol trial the prosecutor Maurizio Romanelli claims that "the responsibility of Silvio Berlusconi, in addition to that of his brother Paolo, in the disclosure of official secrecy" has now been demonstrated. The proceeding stems from the publication in "Il Giornale" of the now famous wiretap between Fassino and his wife: "So, do we have a bank?". The prosecutor has asked for a year in prison for Silvio Berlusconi.
