Berlusconi, it's time for the vote on forfeiture. And in the meantime the lawyers are turning to Strasbourg

The Senate Committee for Parliamentary Elections and Immunities is meeting today, called upon to rule on the forfeiture of Silvio Berlusconi. In any case, the pronouncement will not take place during the day, when the case will be "hinted" in the Giunta and the calendar of works defined. At the moment, the road for the former premier and still leader of the PDL is absolutely uphill: 14 senators, who are those of the Pd and M5S, have already declared that they will not save Berlusconi, while only 8 want to do battle.

In any case, it is difficult to make predictions about the timing because much will depend on the moves of the PDL, which with a last-minute change of strategy could raise procedural problems pending the appeal to Strasbourg. With a 33-page document the lawyers of the PDL leader they have in fact appealed to the European Court of Human Rights, for violation of Article 7 of the European Convention.
