Berlusconi and the phone that doesn't ring

“They crouched down to the demands of the EU, especially the 'German' European Union and northern Europe, which only lead to recession. It is not only my judgment, but also that of Nobel prize winners”. New frontal attack by Silvio Berlusconi on the technicians of the Monti government. Il Cavaliere continues his electoral campaign made up of media raids, trying to make the most of the days available before a level playing field is reached. The latest statements are entrusted to the microphones of the Gr Parlamento.

The former Premier is trying to recover support by railing against the economic policy of the professors. The same as his party helped steer and approve throughout his term, being able to count on the majority of seats in Parliament, where the PDL has always been the only numerically decisive force for holding the government.

As for the candidacy chapter, Berlusconi claims to have shown availability towards Monti (who, we recall, announced his resignation after the pidiellini abstained from a series of votes of confidence). Indeed, today the Knight complains about a lack of communication from the Professor: “At the meeting of the EPP I said that I was available to step aside, proposing Monti. We are waiting for an official response from Monti, who hasn't even considered making a phone call. We will see what he will say, but I see myself forced to still be the federator of the moderates ”.

Berlusconi then said he partially agreed with the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, who had spoken of a "wasted legislature". According to the Knightthere was the possibility with the Government of technicians to have a majority in Parliament to approve the constitutional reforms necessary to make Italy governable. Those reforms that the government of technicians has not decided to re-propose".

Meanwhile, the Senate Budget Committee has given a "non-obstructive opinion" to the scheme legislative decree on the ineligibility of convicts. At this point the provision can be definitively approved at the next meeting of the Council of Ministers.

Finally, the law of stability, the last act of this legislature. The general discussion on the provision has begun in the Chamber hall, which this morning obtained a go-ahead without modifications from the Budget Committee. At 12 the government will put its trust in the same text approved by the Senate and the explanations of vote will begin immediately. The first call will start at 13.30 and the result will be available after about an hour. From 15 pm there will then be the examination of the agendas and at 18 pm the final vote. With the approval of Montecitorio, the text will become law.
