1,4 billion euros. This is the price that the US real estate company Brookfield would have paid to buy Posdamer Platz, the historic square in Berlin embellished by the architectural works of Renzo Piano.

Posdamer Platz, one of the most beautiful and historic squares in Berlin, she is no longer German. The American real estate company Brookfield bought it for 1,4 billion euros.

The news was announced by the same US company which acted through a subsidiary (Brookfield Property Partner) and with an Asian fund as a partner.

At the moment there is no official price on the sale of Potsdamer Platz, but as reported by the Wall Street Journal, the company allegedly paid 1,4 billion euros to the German open fund, Seb Immo-Invest, owner of the buildings built according to a project by Renzo Piano, including the splendid theater for musicals, the famous gallery, but also cinemas, offices and apartments located in the square.

In total there are 17 buildings, 10 streets and two squares with a total area of ​​270 square meters in the center of the German capital, where around 480 businesses are active.
