An appointment entirely dedicated to world of white wines for aging, a typology that has experienced an unceasing qualitative growth for over thirty years but which, above all on international markets, it still does not enjoy due recognition: on May 31, Berebianco sees the light in Rome, the latest addition to the Cucina & Vini family, which joins Sparkle and Bererosa.
“Looking at the export numbers – he says Francesco D'Agostino, Director of Cucina & Vini – an obvious fact emerges: the Whites are not only far behind the Reds in terms of sales but also and above all in terms of values, with the Reds able to fetch average prices 60% higher than the Whites. To this is added the perception, still alive among the general public, that White is a product to be eaten fresh, rarely capable of reaching four quarters of enological nobility. In our opinion, to affirm the right positioning in the global market, it is necessary to start from the domestic one, so that healthy pride can spread for products which, in our opinion, do not fear comparison on international markets.
Tasting in tasting tables e masterclass i with producers of older vintages
For this, in addition to tasting current vintages at tasting counters, it will be possible to participate in masterclasses in which we will present and talk with the producers of the old vintages"
Precisely in this sense the Berebianco event was born, which will see its debut Wednesday 31 May and Thursday XNUMX June. Two days that will have as theater the spaces of the centrally located Hotel Quirinale (via Nazionale, 7) which will host 45 wineries and 130 labels, for a journey through the most interesting "bianchist" realities of the peninsula with as many as 13 Italian regions represented.
45 wineries and 130 labels from 13 Italian regions represented
To underline the series of masterclasses dedicated to old vintages, in which it will be possible to touch the great competence of the best Italian wineries in this interesting type of wine: it will be a journey full of emotions between different territories in which to discover the overflowing identity of our Aging whites.
"Let's start from Rome because in the capital we can count on an audience that has always faithfully followed our events showing interest, curiosity and great participation - concludes D'Agostino - With Berebianco the whole C&V team wants to continue the discourse of dissemination and analysis that from years distinguishes our appointments, with the conviction that this format too can become, in a very short time, a point of reference both for the productive world and for Italian wine lovers”.
