International petrol and diesel prices soar, companies' gross margins contract sharply and Eni, for the second consecutive day, decides to increase the recommended prices by going up on the green by another cent0,5 cents on diesel and 1 cent on LPG.
Rises which, added to those of yesterday, they bounce the market leader by 2,3 cents in 48 hours on the light product and 1 cent on the heavy one. All other oil companies have stopped, at least for today. Interventions for tomorrow are not excluded, which could raise the threshold of the next roller coaster descent promised and expected by consumers for the weekend, with advances on Friday. The discounts, however, will not extend to LPG, which could experience a month of gradual growth without the "thrill" of the weekend below cost.
On the territory we are witnessing a generalized growth of both average values (as a result of recent price increases), and peaks. No-logos are also making progress, traditionally sensitive to the dynamics of international markets. More in detail, according to what results from a sample of service stations representing the national situation for Check-Up Prices QE, the average prices served are now on the rise to 1,866 euro/litre for petrol, 1,756 for diesel and 0,755 for LPG. Peaks of up to 1,949 for green, 1,798 for diesel and 0,793 for LPG.
At country level, the average price of petrol (again in served mode) ranges from 1,855 euro/litre of Esso to 1,866 IP (no-logo up to 1,780). For diesel, it went from 1,748 euro/litre for Esso to 1,756 for Tamoil (no-logo up to 1,654). Lastly, LPG is between 0,746 euro/litre again for Esso and 0,755 for Shell, Tamoil and TotalErg (no-logo at 0,740).
