Gasoline, Scaroni (Eni): "Consumption is falling, but prices won't go down"

After the discount on the weekends, other "important initiatives" are on the way from Eni - but numbers are increasing on the network: average prices stand at 1.928 euros per liter for petrol and 1,810 for diesel, with maximum green in some central regions, where the additional factor plays a role, at 2,019 euros per litre.

Gasoline, Scaroni (Eni): "Consumption is falling, but prices won't go down"

"Consumption is falling. We are around 8-9%”. Eni's CEO said so, Paolo scaroni, in an interview with the newspaper "Il Messaggero", speaking of fuel consumption in Italy.

Scaroni then underlined that the sector is being penalized by “the weak euro. It is therefore difficult to think of a drop in prices internationally". As for excise duties, "I don't think the country's financial situation leaves room for manoeuvre". In any case, after the success of the maxi-discount on weekends, Eni's CEO promises other "important initiatives" to meet consumers.

In the meantime though on the national network the script is always the same. According to the monitoring of Quotidiano Energia, the numbers are still increasing: average prices stand at 1.928 euros per liter for petrol and 1,810 for diesel, with green peaks in some regions of the Centre, where the additional factor plays a role, at 2,019 euros per litre, while the diesel peak stands at 1,850.

In the face of international prices down slightly as a result of the exchange rate, the prices charged are therefore slightly up. At country level, the average price of petrol in the served mode ranges from 1,918 euro/litre for Esso to 1,928 for TotalErg (no-logo at 1,829). For diesel, it goes from 1,801 euro/litre again for Esso to 1,810 for IP and TotalErg (no-logo at 1,702). Lastly, LPG is between 0,779 euro/litre for Eni and 0,790 for Q8 (no-logo at 0,768).
