Bentivogli: "Rewarding sustainability for a new 1st May"

The fourth edition of the National Sustainable Work Day promoted by the Fim-Cisl was held on Monday 29 April at the Feralpi in Lonato del Garda

It will be held on Monday 29 April at 16pm at Feralpi Siderurgica, in Lonato del Garda (Bs) the fourth edition of the National Sustainable Work Day, organized by Fim Cisl, the metalworkers' union of the Cisl, together with NeXt, the Ethical Cash Mob. The initiative, which involves citizens, is aimed at support companies that respect workers and the environment, through the creation of events for the promotion and collective responsible consumption, to reward social and environmental sustainability and for positive trade union relations.

The event this year will focus on the award ceremony of the Feralpi iron and steel company for environmental sustainability and the supply chain focused on local businesses. But also for the reintegration projects that the company carries out with the prison of Verziano and the prison of Opera: from imprisonment to inclusion. A round table will follow in which they will take Marco Welcome Fim Cisl general secretary, Leonardo Pecks founder of NeXt and creator of the practice of Voting with Wallet, Roberto Rossini President ACLI, Emilio Del Bono Mayor of Brescia, Giuseppe  Pasini president of the Feralpi Group and AIB; Ugo will intervene Ducic Cisl Lombardy Regional General Secretary. An aperitif of the article 21 social cooperative will follow.

“We have chosen voting with the wallet as an instrument of union struggle – said the general secretary of Fim Cisl Marco Bentivogli -, rewarding companies that represent good practice is more effective than celebrating anything that goes wrong. The initiative in Brescia aims to represent a prologue to the May 1st party, a moment born four years ago in the land of Don Peppe Diana, rewarding companies that fight for legality and sustainability, which has brought us to the Marche region in recent years , Milan and this year in Brescia, where we "reward" together with NeXt the iron and steel company Feralpi which over the years has made environmental, social and trade union sustainability a model of development and growth that has extended from the company to the entire territory , as a culture capable of directing the behavior of companies, inside and outside the corporate perimeter, towards sustainable production and behaviour. A winning choice also from an economic point of view because the data tell us that sustainable companies are also the most solid ones from an economic point of view".

If we want to defend – he added Leonardo Becchetti – the dignity of work according to a new concept of May 29 that puts people and the environment at the centre, we must do this by rewarding those companies that are at the forefront of sustainable job creation. On 21 April with NeXt and FIM Cisl we will vote with the portfolio for some of the most innovative civil economy companies from a social, environmental and technological point of view, from the engineering sector (such as Feralpi) to that of social agriculture and ethical fashion (such as XNUMXgrammi and Altremani)”.
