The Benetton family has decided to change the management of Edizione holding, the safe of the house. Via Marco Patuano, former CEO of Telecom Italia, and promotion to Chief operating officer for the current general manager Carlo Bertazzo, 53 years old, 25 of which spent in the holding.
The changing of the guard will be formalized by today's board of directors in Treviso. Patuano, whose function ended after the death of Gilberto Benetton who had wanted him to lead the holding company, will leave immediately after the shareholders' meeting on 24 June. Fabio Cerchiai will be confirmed as president for now.
Bertazzo will have the task of rearranging the equity investments in the portfolio and managing them, also giving space to the new generations of Benettons: one of the heirs could assume the presidency in the not distant future.
The new number one of Edizione holding will have to pilot the future of Atlantia and decide, after hearing from the family, whether or not to return to Alitalia
