Belgium, controversy over law for family reunification for immigrants

A complex, non-transparent and mostly contradictory law. This is briefly the opinion on the latest modification of the right to family reunification of the many immigrants who legally reside in Belgium.
In fact, according to a survey carried out by the "Roi Baudouin" foundation, Belgian legislation is so outdated (almost 30 years old) and has undergone so many changes that it is now applied by each state official at their own discretion. In short, a real labyrinth, further complicated by the recent changes introduced by the non-Belgian government which could discriminate against citizens of foreign origin. In fact, the text provides for the right to reunification only for partners and for children aged 18 (previously it was 21), prohibiting the possibility of relocation for parents and closest relatives.
