EIB: 3 billion to Italy with the Juncker plan

The EIB has made 3,8 billion available to Italy as part of the Juncker Plan to relaunch investment in Europe. In all, there are 55 operations (loans, guarantees, equity) concluded at the EIB Group level in Italy for a value of 3,8 billion which have enabled investments of 21 billion to be activated in our country.

These are the numbers of the Juncker Plan 18 months after its activation, presented by the Vice President of the EIB, Dario Scannapieco, during the presentation of the "SME Initiative" to the Ministry of Economic Development.

“Throughout Europe – explained Scannapieco – the EIB loans that are based on the EFSI (European Fund for Strategic Investments) guarantee approved to date amount to 24,8 billion euro: loans that have allowed the activation of total investments for 138,3 billion, which represent approximately 44% of the 315 billion expected for the three-year period ending in April 2018”.

These results, underlined the EIB executive, "allow us to affirm that, after a year and a half, the Juncker Plan is working and has made it possible to make investments in 27 member states for almost 140 billion already activated out of the 315 planned".
