Bdr Thermea (Baxi) goes shopping in France and takes over the majority of Eurevia

Bdr Thermea goes shopping in France and detects Eurevia. The European group active in the production of intelligent solutions for air conditioning has acquired the majority of the French company Eurevia, operating in the production of heating and cooling systems for residential buildings. In Italy Bdr Thermea owns the Baxi, historic company from Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza) active in the boiler sector and leader of research on green hydrogen for civil and industrial heating.

Baxi in its Vicenza plant, the largest in the sector at European level with over a thousand employees, is planning and testing hybrid technologies for the heating potentially capable of revolutionizing the reference market. «Heat pumps play a fundamental role in the decarbonisation of buildings. For our Group, this new acquisition represents an excellent opportunity to facilitate and accelerate this process,” he explained Alberto Favero, general manager of Baxi and vice president of Confindustria Vicenza. The French company acquired by the Bdr Thermea group has a workforce of 40 employees, headquarters in La Ciotat and currently sells its solutions in France, Belgium and Switzerland. Eurevia will continue to operate under its own name, as a subsidiary of the sister company Bdr Thermea France.

The words of Schmitt (CEO BDR Therma)

«Eurevia's product portfolio constitutes a significant expansion of our solutions for the energy transition applied to new buildings. With the entry of Eurevia we can offer customers an integrated solution that combines the low carbon technology of heat pumps with the high efficiency of fan coil technology,” he said. Bertrand Schmitt, CEO of the Bdr Thermea group (over 2 billion euros in turnover and 6.200 employees). In 2022, Baxi exceeded all forecasts, growing by more than 20% on 2021 and closing the balance sheet with 424 million euros in revenues, compared to 650 boilers produced. Last year Baxi was the first industrial company to mass produce hydrogen boilers with the goal of wide-scale deployment by 2025.
