ECB: rumors of buying corporate bonds, but the Eurotower is slowing down

According to the Reuters agency, the central bank is considering the possibility of intervening on the secondary market to buy corporate bonds from the beginning of 2015 - ECB spokesman: "The Governing Council has not taken such a decision" - But the spread is holding back and the stock market accelerates.

Since the beginning of 2015 the ECB could buy too corporate bonds, in addition to covered bonds. The news was released today by the Reuters agency, which cites "various sources" according to which the central bank is considering intervening on the secondary market. According to the agency, a decision to that effect could arrive as early as December, so that purchases can start early next year. 

"In the view of many members of the Governing Council, the economic picture has recently taken a negative turn," said one of the sources quoted by Reuters.

After the news broke spread between the Btp and the Bund it returned to 165 basis points, after having reached a session high of 181. On the equity side, the European stock exchanges accelerated upwards, with Business Square pink jersey at +1,8%.
