ECB: M3 up to +2%

In July, the value of the broadest possible monetary aggregate of the euro area, which includes the monetary base and all highly liquid financial assets, increased (+2% on an annual basis)

The monetary aggregate M3 of the euro area, which also includes short-term bonds with a maturity of up to 2 years, underwent a slight increase in July, recording an increase of 2%, compared to July 2010, compared to 1,9 % recorded in June. Even considering the three-month period from May to July, M3 grew by 2,1% compared to the same period in 2010 and accelerated by 2% compared to the April-June period. Loans to the private sector in the Eurozone also grew, recording an increase of 2,4% year on year. This was announced today by the European Central Bank (ECB).
