ECB launches new charter for equality, diversity and inclusion. Also Visco (Bank of Italy) among the signatories

Tuesday the European Central Bank presented the newCharter for equality, diversity and inclusion”. The signatories - which include all the governors of the central institutions of the Eurozone, including the number one of the Bank of Italy, Ignazio Visco – “commit their institutions to accelerate their efforts to promote a work environment based on respect and dignity, also ensuring the absence of any type of discrimination in the workplace”. This is what we read in a note from Via Nazionale.

“More heterogeneous and inclusive institutions achieve better results – commented the president of the ECB, Christine Lagarde – Joining our efforts constitutes a further step towards the ability to better represent the diversity of the citizens we serve”.

By signing the charter, "the parties agree that diversity and inclusion in the workplace improve the performance and stability of institutions - writes the Eurotower in a note - The charter establishes shared principles, common objectives and concrete commitments to improve work culture at the whole system level”.

Furthermore, the Charter defends the principle according to which "every individual enjoys equal rights and equal dignity and a heterogeneous working environment favors the development of innovative solutions", concludes the ECB.
