ECB, yet another record overnight deposits

The liquidity parked by Eurozone banks in Frankfurt's coffers continues to grow: the new record is 481,935 billion euros, a sign that the interbank market remains in a state of stagnation.

Yet another record for i overnight deposits in the coffers of the ECB, which yesterday rose to share of 481,935 billion euros, from 463,565 billion the previous day. In short, the interbank market continues to be more than plastered: the credit institutions of the Eurozone prefer to park the enormous amount of funds received from the Eurotower itself in the coffers of Frankfurt rather than circulate the money, lending it at much higher rates.

In decided marginal lending declines of the ECB, which fell to 1,391 billion from 1,861 billion on Friday.

Under the second program of purchase of covered bonds dto 40 billion launched last November 3, the European Central Bank also announced that yesterday purchases reached 3,164 billion, from 3,128 billion the previous day.
