ECB, Draghi: "Economy is improving, but the recovery remains fragile"

The financial situation of the euro area "is improving" and the economic picture has already made progress, but "the recovery is only in the initial phase and the economy remains fragile". This was stated by the president of the European Central Bank, Mario Draghi, speaking at a conference in Berlin.

“Unemployment remains far too high”, he added, reiterating that the ECB does not intend to raise interest rates for a long time yet.

According to Draghi, thanks to the various measures taken to stabilize the financial and economic framework, "the systemic risks have decreased", but now we need to continue with the structural reforms aimed at strengthening the economies".
