ECB, Coeure: "Qe more sustained in May and June"

In the months of May and June the plan of quantitative easing of European Central Bank it will be more sustained. This was stated by the member of the Executive Committee of the central institute Benoit Coeure, according to which the ECB will thus anticipate a part of the purchases of the summer months, in which the liquidity in circulation is usually lower.

Furthermore, Coeure minimized the possible impact of the sell-off that characterized European government bonds and in particular the Bunds, defining it as a movement due to "a market correction that reflects a positive growth outlook" and adding that the Bank Central European Union is not concerned about it.

Still on the subject of Quantitative easing, the governor of Central Bank of France Christian Noyer announced that the ECB is ready, if necessary, to take further measures (ie prolong QE beyond September 2016) to "keep inflation close to but below 2%," the Eurotower's stated goal. Noyer, however, noted that Qe has already had a positive impact.

Meanwhile, the pace of purchases of government bonds in the Eurozone made by the central bank as part of the quantitative easing plan remains high. This was communicated by the central institute, according to which last week purchases of securities issued by the governments of the euro area and by some agencies and public entities amounted to 13,696 billion, stable compared to the 13,653 billion of the previous week.
