The European Central Bank and the Bank of England have published a joint document in which they illustrate the various options for revitalizing the ABS market, securitized securities with underlying loans of various types, which has been at the center of the global financial crisis.
If the Abs segment worked better, say the two central banks, loans to the private sector could be increased, in particular to SMEs.
In particular, the document speaks of a better harmonization of the rules applied to these credit packages, of the definition of principles that improve transparency and of more complete data on these loans so as to "help to expand the market for this type of securities" .
