According to the central institute, "the probability of a sharp rise in risk premiums globally has increased as a result of the increase in fears about the state of emerging economies".

ECB: external risks for Eurozone stability are increasing

External risks to the financial stability of the euro area are increasing. The message comes directly from ECB in the financial stability report which is released twice a year. The text states that the financial system of the Eurozone "proved to be resistant to episodes of volatility on the markets in the second half of the year", the period under examination.

However, the report underlines that “the likelihood of a sharp rise in risk premia globally has heightened as concerns about the state of emerging economies have grown”.

The parameters that measure the systemic risk of the banking sector at the tax level of the financial system in the euro area "remain at moderate levels despite the stress phases caused by the turbulence of the summer months in Greece and, following, the marked correction of the price of assets in China” which caused contagion effects in the Eurozone.
