ECB buys Eurozone bonds for 124 million euros. Drainage tomorrow

The European Central Bank has bought eurozone government bonds on the market for 124 million euros in the last week, against 63 million in the previous one.

The Frankfurt institute also announced the usual one-week fund drain operation for tomorrow, aimed at sterilizing the excess liquidity generated by the bond purchase programme. The figure that the ECB intends to collect has been indicated at 219 billion, an amount identical to that returned from last Tuesday's drainage. The auction, at a variable rate with a maximum cap of 1%, will be settled on the day after tomorrow, 8 February, and returned on 15 February.
