Bcc and bad bank: the decree is postponed to next week

It seems that the government has chosen to lengthen the time to make the final touches to the guarantee scheme on the securitization of non-performing loans.

Bcc and bad bank: the decree is postponed to next week

Nothing to do tomorrow for the bank decree in the Council of Ministers. The package with measures for credit institutions, including guarantees for bad banks and the reform of the CCBs, will be approved next week. This was reported by Treasury sources, adding that the CDM will not be held tomorrow.

The provision, eagerly awaited by the markets, with the cornerstones of the self-reform of the Bccs, the provisions on the State guarantee to facilitate the transfer of non-performing loans, the acceleration of credit recovery and some rules on bankruptcy law, already postponed once, in short, it will not see the light even tomorrow.

The government may have chosen to further lengthen the time to make the final touches to the guarantee scheme on securitizations that have Italian banks' non-performing loans as their underlying.

The establishment of a "data bank of non-performing loans" is also being studied, which should prove useful above all for small and medium-sized enterprises and reduce the uncertainties that hold back the sale prices of non-performing loans.
