Bcc, countdown: meetings by December

The CCBs must change pace. The time has come to press on the accelerator and lay the foundations for setting up the new groups. Cassa Centrale Banca and Iccrea, the two parent companies into which the cooperative credit banks will converge, have sent future members a reminder letter inviting the various institutions to convene the meetings that will be on the agenda within the first two weeks of December the modification of the Statute for joining the National Group and the adoption of the "Cohesion Pact".

In other words, in agreement with the ECB, the two parent companies have decided to bring forward by one month the deadline set by the Milleproroghe decree which, we recall, had postponed the terms within which to proceed with joining Iccrea or Cassa Centrale.

In the coming days, both have asked to receive the texts of the new statutes containing the changes to be made in order to complete the membership. Subsequently the documents will be sent to Strasbourg for the necessary approval.

In the event that the new terms are respected, the two parent companies could therefore be ready to start as early as 1 January. Two years after the approval of the law by the Renzi Government, therefore, the reform of the Cooperative Credit Banks seems ready to become a reality.
