Bcc Castagneto Carducci, the economy in the Della Gherardesca castle

Telling the economy in the picturesque setting of Della Gherardesca Castle in Castagneto Carducci, in the heart of Tuscany and a stone's throw from the iconic Bolgheri, is not a usual event. But the initiative taken last week by Bcc of Castagneto Carducci together with Rotary of Livorno was a successful event that will probably be repeated at the end of the summer.

Lorenzo Mannari General Manager of the Castagneto Carducci Bank

An event that was opened by the Director General of the Bcc of Castagneto, Fabrizio Mannari (in the photo), and which served above all to update the public on the progress made by what – with 24 branches and a branched presence in 4 provinces – has by now become the reference bank of cooperative credit along the entire Tyrrhenian coast of Tuscany and which is part of the Cassa Centrale Banca holding company born from the 2016 CCB reform. Between loans and deposits growing despite the pandemic, the Castagneto CCB today represents around 20% of the market of the credit of the province, that of Livorno, where it was born 111 years ago and where it has its roots which in recent years have expanded to the provinces of Grosseto, Pisa and Lucca. Curiously, but not by chance, the bank now boasts a younger staff in the credit sector (the average is under 40 years) and characterized by a strong female presence.

After the introduction of Mannari it was the turn of the Director of FIRSTonline, Franco Locatelli, trace the economic scenarios of Italy after the pandemic. Locatelli argued that the estimates of growth of around 5% of Italian GDP in 2021 and 2022 are exceeding the most optimistic expectations and take us back to the economic boom years of the late 50s and early 60s thanks mainly to three novelties: the diffusion of the vaccination plan that is countering the pandemic, the paradigm shift in Europe with the launch of the 750 billion euro Next Generation Eu of which our country is the first beneficiary and the birth of the Draghi government which marked a turning point also appreciated by Europe for the authority of the prime minister and for the investment projects and commitment to reforms. “The challenge now is to transform this year's and next year's rebound in GDP into a marked strengthening of growth potential through the rapid spending of the money that will arrive from Europe and with the reforms we have in the pipeline. to Italy a high and stable GDP over the years”.

After Locatelli took the floor Rainer Atzwanger of the Finance and Bancassurance Service of the Cassa Centrale Banca who illustrated the positive financial results of the holding which are reflected in the growth, both in terms of profitability and capital strengthening (with a Cet1 Ratio of over 15%) of the Bcc of Castagneto Carducci , which is one of the brightest banks of the group born from the Renzi reform. Atzwanger also presented the guidelines and leading asset management products that the group is able to offer to customers with an eye to profitability but above all to the safety and transparency of savers' investments.

The count Gaddo della Gherardesca, who was the pleasant host, then led the audience on a visit to the family castle, one of the most precious historic residences in Tuscany and Italy which the famous Count Ugolino – mentioned by Dante in the Divine Comedy – accompanied the vicissitudes of the famous family until today.
