Basketball: Milan doesn't stop, beat Vitoria

Milan confirms its great moment and in the third day of the Top 16 also beats Vitoria 83-76, at the end of a match commanded from start to finish (+10 at halftime, also reaching +17 in the middle of the third quarter) and rejecting without too much trouble the Basques' comeback attempt in the last minutes. For Olimpia, the second success in the Top 16 group (after the feat against Olympiacos and the away defeat against the other Greeks of Panathinaikos), but above all in the last four games (the first of the new year, after the defeat in Athens on 2 January), awaited by many as a real test for Banchi's team, a poker of victories arrived that perhaps not even the most optimistic of fans could hope for (given the burns of the past). In the league, the significant statements about Sassari and Siena, in the middle of the magical evening against Olympiacos and then a match that EA7 had to make their own and so it happened.

Three times it's true he was able to take advantage of home advantage, but the opponents were all level, and Milan deserved in all four matches, finally gaining more and more confidence and awareness of their potential. Above all in Europe, Olimpia now seems to have reached that dimension it has been missing for some time, in certain moments it gives the idea of really being able to play against anyone and is ready to earn the respect of even the most formidable opponents, which goes hand in hand with the attention that the latter will reserve for her on the parquet from here on out.

The one against the Basques coached by the former Scariolo, very booed as he entered the field and targeted by more football choirs than a basketball arena at the end of the celebrations (his experience in Milan was certainly not positive, one can say unsuccessful, but the hatred towards him seemed frankly exaggerated, to which in any case he responded with refinement and common sense), it was the race that showed all the steps forward already seen in the previous performances, considering that some mechanisms are destined to improve further and when even the last elements (see Kangur) have reached the best condition, then Milan can really be scary.
