The center-right wins the elections in Basilicata obtaining the large reconfirmation of Vito Bardi. He loses, and by a lot, the wide field, who pays a high price for diatribes and twists and turns, but above all for the support of Action and Italia Viva to the outgoing governor (also due to the vetoes imposed by the M5S). With those votes, in fact, the battle would have been a photo finish. The regional match therefore ends 2-1 for the centre-right, which in addition to Basilicata also conquered Abruzzo. On the centre-left only Sardinia remains and a deep reflection to be made in view of European elections in June. In the majority, however, it is not to be underestimated “the League effect” grappling with an internal debate on leadership that the Lucanian result could contribute to exacerbating.
Elections in Basilicata: the final results

To the third candidate Eustachio Madness went 1,21%.

The reactions
“I sincerely thank all the citizens who wanted to confirm their support for our policies”, comments the Premier Giorgia Meloni. His party ironically speaks of the "Monologue Effect in Basilicata", with a reference to the Scurati case: "They didn't see us coming because they were busy rereading the famous monologue". “Great satisfaction” comes from the League, for “yet another major success of the united centre-right”. But above all from FI. “The united center-right won. The Lucanians who chose to support our Good Government for another 5 years won", the tweet by Antonio Tajani, who managed to convince the allies to once again focus on the former general of the Financial Police who obtained the investiture in 2019 by Silvio Berlusconi.
Vito Bardi he speaks of "a clear victory", and thanks "the Lucanians for the trust they have placed in me, for the second time. It is a great responsibility that I feel towards all of them, even towards the Lucanians who did not vote for me or who did not go to the polls. I will continue to be everyone's President."
“I thank Piero Marrese because he fought a very difficult battle. We got there late. We arrived at this electoral appointment after having made many mistakes. Everything happened. I think the result is the effect of the errors that occurred in the composition of the coalition. With M5S there is a need to establish some rules that must always apply. We need to give ourselves a perimeter. We cannot, from time to time, decide differently", said the Vice President of the European Parliament, Pina Picierno, exponent of the Democratic Party.
An analysis that irritated the regional coordinator of the 5 Star Movement, the deputy Arnaldo Lomuti: “I don't understand what you mean, in your place I would be a little more cautious in seeking responsibility”.
