Ukraine: Russian missiles on Kiev, hit a children's hospital

The toll, unfortunately provisional, of the latest one would be at least 22 deaths Russian missile attack on Ukraine. At the moment there are 9 dead and 20 injured in Kiev, 10 dead and 41 injured in Krivih Rih, 3 dead in Pokrovsk, one dead and 6 injured in Dnipro. Among the most affected areas there would be the Ukrainian capital, which according to its mayor Vitali Klitschko would be under "one of the worst attacks" of the last 2 years. Okhmatdyt children's hospital hit, “one of the most important not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe,” explained Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on X, underlining that “Now that the hospital was damaged by a Russian attack, there are people under the rubble and the exact number of victims is not yet known. At this moment everyone is helping to remove the rubble: doctors and ordinary people."

“Russia cannot claim ignorance of where its missiles are flying and must be held fully accountable for all its crimes. Against people, against children, against humanity in general. It is very important that the world does not remain silent about this and that everyone sees what Russia is and what it is doing,” added Zelensky who is currently in Warsaw, Poland, for meet Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

A strong missile attack also hit a Kryvyi Rih, the president's hometown in the Dnipropetrovsk region (center), where there were at least 10 dead and 31 injured.

Orban in China by Xi Jinping

Meanwhile, the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, representative of the European Union, after the visit to Putin, flew to China to meet the Chinese president Xi Jinping, as part of a "Peace Mission 3.0", Orban wrote on his X profile, publishing a photo of his arrival by plane in Beijing.

A decision that has once again infuriated the EU after the controversies that followed themeeting between the Hungarian president and Vladimir Putin. As happened in Russia last week, once again, Orban is not in China representing the European Union, they underlined from Brussels. To a question about how the German government views the Budapest peace initiative, German government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit replied: “There is not much to say”, “there is no new state of affairs”.

In this context the first ones arrive Xi's statements who, upon meeting the Hungarian prime minister, would have said that it is in the interests of Ukraine and Russia lay down their weapons “shortly”. and find a political solution to their problems. At the moment, said the Chinese president, “the priority is to cool the crisis by following three principles, prevent the fire from spreading beyond the battlefield, prevent escalation and prevent anyone from fueling the conflict,” he added, expressing appreciation for Orban's mission. “The priority – he underlined – “is to contribute to de escalation as soon as possible”. The international community must therefore support the resumption of dialogue and direct negotiations between the two sides. “China actively promotes peace talks and encourages and supports all efforts that lead to a peaceful solution to the crisis", he concluded, specifying that Beijing's position coincides with that of Budapest.

Israel – Hamas: yes to negotiations on a ceasefire, even if it is not permanent

The heads of the CIA, Mossad and Egyptian intelligence will meet on Wednesday in Doha with the Prime Minister of Qatar to discuss a possible agreement between Israel and Hamas for a truce in Gaza in exchange for the release of the hostages. A senior Hamas official said the group would also agree to negotiations over the hostages in the absence of a permanent ceasefire, a step forward that could speed up the negotiations, while the Jerusalem Post writes that the head of the Shint Bet Ronen Bar would have left for Cairo at the head of an Israeli delegation to continue the talks.

According to several officials in the Middle East and the United States, the devastation in the Gaza Strip contributed to soften Hamas' positions in negotiations to reach a truce agreement.
Meanwhile, on the field, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirm that they launched a bomb during the night new operation in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City, entering the UNRWA headquarters in the area where the IDF had found an important Hamas tunnel infrastructure. The IDF says it has intelligence information on new Hamas and Islamic Jihad activities and infrastructure in Gaza city, including weapons depots. The operations continue today and some of the heaviest fighting since the beginning of the war appears to be underway in Gaza City, some residents say.
