Barilla: 2017 ok and now the focus is on Asia

The vice president of the Emilia-based company judges the 2017 results positively and announces that Barilla is investigating the possibility of strengthening itself in new geographical areas, starting with Asia

Barilla: 2017 ok and now the focus is on Asia

“Our 2017 went well to a certain extent in all countries. With some products better, some more stable, but generally good”. As' Paolo Barilla, vice president of the homonymous group, commented on the results achieved last year by the company and the future prospects. At the moment, he explains, “there is a refinement of our organization to manage the more unstable markets, because there are events that are more impactful and rapid than in the past. Everything becomes more difficult and we try to give continuity and solidity to our action”.

The key element, he assures, continues to be "the quality of the product". As for 2018, however, the gaze of the Parma group is focused on Asia: "There are some geographical areas where we are trying to better understand what the value of our products is". Barilla speaks of a learning phase linked to “geographical areas where we know less, such as the Asian part. That is a target, today we have set ourselves the goal of understanding what Italian food is worth and how they see it and what people want, given that they have very different food systems and habits”.
