Bank of Italy: green light to the new statute

Bankitalia has a new statute. The green light came today from the extraordinary general meeting of Palazzo Koch, which implemented the changes to the law on capital revaluation.

“It's a positive and important day – said the president of Cassa di Ravenna and ABI, Antonio Patuelli -. An anachronism has been overcome, i.e. the most solid Central Bank in Europe with an out-of-date share capital even lower than that of disastrous Cyprus”.

The meeting had been convened to implement in the Statute the contents of the decree law which revalues the capital of Bankitalia to 7,5 billion euros, from 156 thousand euros 80 years ago.

Patuelli, who spoke at the meeting with the shares held by Cassa di Ravenna, added that "other statutory changes have also been implemented, all of which are approaching".
