According to the director general of the Bank of Italy, work is “the first challenge”, which can only be won if public action proves capable of “attacking the ancient defects of our society. Those that influence entrepreneurial action”, i.e. taxes and unproductive spending.

Bank of Italy, Rossi: "The recovery is not taken for granted, act on work"

"Italy's return to the path of development is not obvious, nor is it easily within reach". These are the words of Salvatore Rossi, general manager of the Bank of Italy, who yesterday in his speech at the conference entitled "A finance for development", held at the Banca Popolare di Sondrio, underlined how our country has "lost the path of economic development for a long time. Common sense says so, the data confirms it: the last six years, with the crisis, have doubled unemployment and eroded the per capita GDP by 11 percentage points”.

In this context, according to Rossi, work is “the first challenge”, which can only be won if public action proves capable of “attacking the ancient defects of our society. Those that influence entrepreneurial action”, i.e. taxes and unproductive spending.
