Bank loans to individuals increased by 4% in September, against 4,1 in August. Interest rates also increased slightly, except for those applied to mortgages, which rose from 3,70 to 3,69%

Bank loans slow down in September. Lending to the private sector rose 4% year-on-year in the month versus 4,1% in August. This is indicated by the data released today by Bank of Italy. In particular the growth of loans slows down both to households and businesses: loans to households in fact increased by 4,5% compared to the 4,6% of the previous month, loans to businesses rose, again on an annual basis, by 4,7% compared to the +4,9% recorded in August.

In slight increase in interest rates: the rate applied in the consumer credit sector stands at 9,24% from 9,23% (Taeg in August), the rate on loans of up to one million euros to businesses remains, rising to 4,16% from 4,15, 3,05% while, for those over one million, 3% is paid against XNUMX% the month before. On the other hand, the rates applied to mortgages decreased slightly, to 3,69% from 3,70 in August. Collections, on the other hand, resumed, increasing by 0,2% on an annual basis after 10 months of decline.
