Increasingly difficult credit in Italy. In September, the growth rate of loans to households fell to 0,1%, from 0,4% the previous month. THE loans to non-financial companies instead remained in negative territory: -3,2% on an annual basis (they had fallen by 1,9% in August). This is what emerges from the data of the main bank balance sheet items released by the Bank of Italy.

Loans to the private sector, adjusted to take into account securitizations and other loans sold and derecognised from bank balance sheets, decreased by 0,8% compared to last year (-0,2 in August).

Interest rates on loans to households for the purchase of homes decreased to 4,10% (4,21% in the previous month), while those on new consumer credit disbursements amounted to 9,73% ( 9,71% in August).

Rates on new loans to non-financial corporations of less than €4,42 million decreased to 4,55% (2,91% in the previous month), while rates on larger loans increased to 2,67 % (1,27% in August). The borrowing rates on all outstanding deposits amounted to 1,25% (XNUMX% in August).
