Via Nazionale denies the press rumors that spoke of a possible purchase by the Central Bank of the bonds in the belly of Italian institutions, which in turn would have undertaken to buy new longer-term bonds.

At the Bank of Italy study there is no contingency plan to take over the bonds in the belly of national institutions, so that they undertake to buy new ones with a longer maturity. This was specified in a note from via Nazionale, which defines the indiscretions in this sense published today by the newspaper "Il Messaggero" as "baseless and contrary to European standards".

Meanwhile, today the governor Ignazio Visco is expected at the Treasury to participate in the Committee for the Safeguarding of Financial Stability convened for 15 pm by the Minister of the Economy, Giulio Tremonti. Also present will be the director general of the Treasury, Vittorio Grilli, the president of Isvap, Giancarlo Giannini, and the president of Consob, Giuseppe Vegas.
