Bank of Italy increasingly attentive to cyber threats. From today, Bankitalia has launched a new section on its website dedicated to cybersecurity, entitled “The Bank of Italy for cybersecurity“. This section provides updated information on cyber risks and initiatives at national, European and international level, with the aim of increasing awareness and knowledge on cyber security among citizens, businesses and institutions. The contents, accessible via the site's homepage, include informative explanations and technical insights, as well as a news section and multimedia materials regarding cybersecurity.

The importance of cybersecurity in the financial sector

Digitalization has transformed the financial sector, improving services and ways of using them, but also exposing them to new operational risks, including accidents, errors and cyber attacks.
