Bank of Italy: Eurocoin index -0,14%, first increase since May

In January the Eurocoin index scored for the first time since May a slight ascent, going from -0,20% in December to -0,14 this month.

This can be read in a brief note from the Bank of Italy and CEPR (Centre for Economic Policy Research), according to which “the result is to be ascribed above all to the improvement of some indicators taken from surveys of businesses and consumers e, to a lesser extent, to the modest recovery in share prices”.

The index was developed by the Bank of Italy to provide a real-time estimate of the current economic situation in the euro area in terms of quarterly GDP growth rate (excluding the most erratic components)
