Bank of America, the second-largest bank in the United States, is negotiating a $12 billion fine to settle pending lawsuits over doubtful mortgage loans with the Justice Department. They make it known Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times.

The British financial newspaper also specifies that BofA is ready to pay customers 5 of the 12 billion dollars and has already paid 9,5 billion dollars to the Federal Housing Finance Agency to put an end to a mortgage investigation. It is not the first major problem for Bank of America, which since 2009 has already paid 25 billion dollars in fines in the US.
