Banco Bpm, 42 requests for guaranteed loans: half of which have already been satisfied

Banco Bpm supplies the former data relating to loan moratoriums and suspension of installments, operations envisaged by the Cura Italia and Liquidità decrees in order to help businesses and families in difficulty due to the coronavirus emergency.

According to the information provided, the Veronese bank processed around 100 requests of moratoriums, suspension of installments and loans for a total amount of suspended capital equal to 2 billion euros. 80% of the applications came from companies. Other 42 requests for guaranteed loans of up to 25 euros (measure provided by the Liquidity decree) are in progress. The guarantee of MCC has already been obtained for 27.000 and over 23.000 have already been disbursed for a value exceeding 500 million euro.

During a live Instagram on the Il Sole 24 Ore account, the CEO of Banco Bpm, Joseph Chestnut, he confirmed: 'We are working hard and we are well advanced on the famous disbursements of loans guaranteed by the State under 25 thousand euros'. The disbursement of loans, explained the CEO, was not easy due to the need "to have to connect with the Mediocredito procedures, which we used even before, but we went from a few dozen a day to 3-4 thousand a day" .

“It took us a couple of weeks to get us going – he added – but now out of 40 requests we have processed them all, disbursed 22 and obtained guarantees out of 28”.

"It should be noted - underlines the bank in a note - that in the last week there has been a significant and progressive acceleration in the processing and finalization of the files, with average daily disbursements of approximately 50 million euro". The forecast is to complete the disbursement of loans by the end of Mayo.
