Banco Popolare sells Croatian subsidiary to Otp

Banco Popolare is preparing to sign the contract for the sale of the subsidiary Banco Popolare Croatia to the Hungarian banking group Otp, for an amount of around 15 million euros.

By selling the Croatian subsidiary, the institute led by Pierfrancesco Saviotti would complete its exit path from the Eastern European market, which it had entered forcefully when the reins of the company were in the hands of Fabio Innocenzi.

Banco Popolare Croatia, in fact, represents the latest in a long series of foreign institutions progressively divested by Banco Popolare, to concentrate solely on the Italian core business.
