Banco Bpm, Saviotti leaves. Castagna assumes the functions

Pier Francesco Saviotti has resigned from the position of director and chairman of the executive committee of Banco Bpm. The choice, explains a note from the banking group, was dictated by personal reasons.

Saviotti, 77, was CEO of Banco Popolare from 2008 until the merger with Bpm. Since January 2017, the former CEO held the position of non-independent director and chairman of the bank's executive committee, expressing his "heartfelt thanks to Saviotti for the activity lavished in over ten years of work at the helm of Banco Popolare, providing with his professionalism and dedication a decisive contribution to the growth of the group and to the realization of the merger that led to the birth of Banco Bpm”.

Saviotti's functions as chairman of the executive committee will be assumed by the managing director, Giuseppe Castagna, in his capacity as vice-chairman of the committee itself. The board of directors, on the other hand, will decide on the replacement at a forthcoming board meeting.
