Banco Bpm: ok from the ECB on the new risk management systems

The banking group has obtained the green light for the use of advanced internal models (AIRB) for the measurement of capital requirements relating to credit risk at a consolidated level. Cet1 will rise by 80 basis points. Title bucking the trend at Piazza Affari

Banco BPM communicates with a note released on Monday morning that on 16 February 2018 it received from the European Central Bank the authorization to adopt its internal risk management systems (AIRB models) for the purpose of measuring capital requirements relating to credit risk at a consolidated level and therefore by extending them to BPM SpA

The extension of the AIRB model already in use by the Parent Company was an opportunity to proceed with a significant update of the latter, in order to also take into account the most recent regulatory guidelines envisaged for the estimation of PD and LGD. The authorization will be effective from the next report on March 31, 2018. The authorization will result in a increase in CET1 estimated at around 80 bps and will make it possible to further strengthen the capital solidity of the Banco BPM Group.
