Banco Bpm leads the rises on the Stock Exchange after news on NPLs

Banco Bpm leads the increases in Piazza Affari in the wake of the plan to sell non-performing loans which, according to some rumors, could undergo a marked acceleration in the coming days.

Yesterday, 18 June, the bank led by Giuseppe Castagna completed "Project Exodus", the securitization of the 5,1 billion euro non-performing loan portfolio, while a meeting of the board of directors is scheduled for the day area of which the sums will be drawn on the same securitization project.

However, investors now seem to believe that Banco Bpm has put the fifth gear on the disposal of NPLs and on the sale of its platform. According to what was reported by the Sole 24 Ore, there would be several possibilities on the table: on the one hand there would be the sale of around 3,5 billion euros of non-performing loans, necessary to reach the threshold of 13 billion euros indicated by the ECB , on the other hand there would be the disposal of NPLs up to 8 or 9,5 billion euros.

At the same time, the sale of the majority of the credit management platform is also being evaluated, along the lines of the operation carried out by Unicredit or Intesa Sanpaolo with the Swedish Intrum. The bank has already received several expressions of interest even if thePreliminary offers are expected around 6 July and all the major operators in the sector are in the running: Tpg, Cerberus, DoBank-Fortress, Fonspa, Crc, Davidson Kempner, Fire.

The important new arrivals give wings to the title in a very negative day for the international markets that succumb under the weight of the duties. Against a Ftse Mib down by more than 1% and a Ftse italia Banks in the red by 0,8%, Banco Bpm shares rise by 5,68% to 2.532 euros.
