Bpm bank announced the establishment of the Banca Popolare di Verona Foundation, a non-profit territorial body intended to carry out, support and promote activities of general interest with civic, solidarity and social utility purposes in the territories overseen by the Verona and North-East Territorial Directorate of Banco Bpm.

The Banca Popolare di Verona Foundation, upon resolution of the Board of Directors of Banco Bpm, intends to support initiatives in the sectors of education, social and health care, culture, worship, scientific research, artistic, historical and architectural heritage in continuity with the attention paid by the banking group to the territories and to the various realities that make up its identity profile.

The members of the Board of Directors of the Foundation are prominent representatives of the territory. Together with President Maurizio Marino the Deputy Chairman Tommaso Zanini, the Directors Carlo Fratta Pasini, Marco Carletto, Cecilia Rossignoli, Giordano Simeoni, Dario Tommasi and Leonardo Rigo, head of the Verona and North East Territorial Department of Banco Bpm, were appointed. Members of the Board of Auditors of the Foundation are Matteo Bonetti, Marco Bronzato, Alberto Centurioni. The General Secretary of the Foundation is Andrea Marconi.

"For Banco Bpm, supporting the social fabric of the country is a precise commitment that is implemented through various areas of intervention - underlines the Chairman of Banco Bpm, Massimo Tononi -. This commitment is also reported in the Articles of Association which provides for the possibility of donating a portion of the net profit for purposes of assistance, charity and the public interest in the territories with the greatest presence. Precisely to better fulfill this request, we have decided to set up the Banca Popolare di Verona Foundation so that it can support the social and cultural needs of the area served by the Verona and North East Territorial Department, an area which is an integral part of our group and where our presence has always been very rooted”.

“The birth of the Banca Popolare di Verona Foundation – adds the Chairman Maurice Marino – it is a very significant moment both for Banco Bpm and for the territory. In recent years, the bank has never failed to support the many social and cultural initiatives that characterize an area that has always been very lively and proactive like ours. The Foundation therefore fully represents the will to continue to be, with growing dedication, a point of reference for our communities".
